How to Show Excerpts on a Single Page in WordPress

| Posted by Neil in Tutorials

If you have just created a page for blog posts in WordPress you may be noticing that all the posts showing up on this page are showing the full content. To make your blog look a little more organized it may be in your best interest to show excerpts on this page. To do this, you will need to follow a few simple steps.

  • Go to your admin panel inside WordPress
  • Go to Appearance and then Editor
  • Find Index.php
  • Look for the_excerpt()
  • Change this to the_content()

By doing this, you will be able to show excerpts on your blog page. Full content will still show in your archives as well as on the posts themselves.
